Job Description:
At Danone, manufacturing the best products and supplying them to
meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams. We are currently
looking to hire a Senior Plant Director based in our West Jordan,
Utah yogurt manufacturing plant.In this role, you will be
responsible for setting the factory direction to deliver business
needs and priorities. You will drive factory competitiveness
through superior products at the right cost and on time. You will
lead operationally and develop teams on both functional and
managerial skills to create high-performing teams. Additionally,
you will contribute to Danone's corporate image by establishing the
right culture within the facility, fostering relationships with the
local community and union representatives. This is a unionized
plant with approximately 350 associates, 14 production lines, 6
direct reports, and 3 dotted line reports. The role reports
directly to the VP of Manufacturing.Additional responsibilities
include:
- Setting the Factory Strategy and Master Plan to deliver
business, manufacturing, and people priorities, aligned with
Danone's growth and improvement strategies, including developing
performance metrics.
- Leading the factory organization to be reliable, responsive,
and competitive.
- Establishing a zero-risk operating culture ensuring a safe
environment for all employees and contractors.
- Accelerating performance improvements by enhancing KPIs.
- Building a productivity pipeline to achieve cost reductions in
Plant and COGS.
- Driving IWS & DMA implementation to attain manufacturing and
supply chain best practices.
- Fostering connectivity, networking, and benchmarking internally
and externally.
- Securing product superiority through minimizing variability and
maintaining spec consistency, supporting new and existing product
development.
- Strengthening the factory organization through talent
development.
- Driving organizational development and high-performing teams
through structured and proximity leadership.
- Developing internal leaders for growth within Danone, including
First Line Leaders and Plant Leadership Team members.
- Enhancing the factory's contribution to the business innovation
pipeline.
- Driving growth and change in a fast-paced, high-energy
environment.
- Being a visible and active leader promoting a positive and
productive culture.
- Building relationships and setting long-term actions with the
local community and other stakeholders to protect the site's
reputation and competitiveness.
- Developing and maintaining positive community relations on
issues like wastewater treatment, utilities, noise abatement,
employment, and expansion planning.
- Maintaining open lines of communication with associates
regarding company policies, suggestions, concerns, and complaints,
and implementing programs to promote transparency.
- Supporting compliance with all Environmental, Health, and
Safety regulations and policies, including beverage safety,
quality, and reliability standards.
- Ensuring the highest quality standards for all products
produced, handled, and prepared.
- Measuring, tracking, and maintaining controls and reports to
evaluate costs, quality, and service levels for operational
efficiency.
- Developing a strong local talent pipeline and succession plans
for all positions.
- Promoting positive relations with associates and unions.
- Fostering a one-team approach with sales and marketing,
including customer visits, industry conferences, and

- You hold a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a
related field, with 15+ years of leadership experience in a lean
manufacturing environment; experience with TPM and within CPG food
manufacturing is preferred.
- You are a change agent, willing to challenge the status quo,
with strong influencing skills to interact successfully at all
organizational levels.
- You have experience managing multiple direct reports and matrix
reporting, with expertise in budget and cost management.
- You possess excellent project management skills.
- You have strong problem-solving skills, capable of making
decisions with limited information and handling uncertainty and
change.
- You are process-oriented, able to identify process improvements
and implement change effectively.
- You can support a 24/7 manufacturing environment as
