SENIOR JAVA DEVELOPER As a Barclays Senior Java Developer you will be responsible for building and supporting a data science platform and providing the tools and frameworks for quants and analysts across multiple business groups and multiple asset classes to perform quantative analytics and build machine learning models. As a software developer, you are going to design and build core parts of the platform and interact with multiple stakeholders to provide the most suitable solution for their needs. • Designing and developing critical components of the system as and when required
• Helping with the overall platform architecture
• Working on micro services infrastructure such as authentication, authorization, service discovery, load balancing and auto-scaling
• Building streaming and storage data solutions for large volumes of market and trading data
• Participating in design and code reviews as and when required
• Assisting data science and product teams to implement and productionize model driven machine learning tools and technology
• Supporting and manage the existing platforms used heavily by the users WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
  • Five plus years of application development in Core Java (collections, multithreading, async programming, concurrency), designing, coding, and debugging
  • Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, sorting and searching techniques, design patterns
  • Spring/Spring Boot, J2EE (JSP, Servlet API)
  • Experience using Kafka or similar messaging middleware SKILLS THAT WILL HELP YOU IN THE ROLE:
    • Experience with middleware platforms like Solace, Kafka
    • Experience with database technologies, data modelling, or data preparation
