As a Security Engineer, you will be responsible for product
security reviews, building and deploying tools, as well as
consulting on solutions related to securing the global public and
private cloud infrastructure that runs our SaaS products. This
position is responsible for all technical aspects of security for
Workday's SaaS environment. You will be working closely with the
product and infrastructure teams at Workday in the areas of
security tools development, platform/infrastructure design, and
secure application design.
You'll be encouraged to keep your skills up to date by attending
training courses, security conferences, and other events such as
internal red/blue team exercises and hackathons.
Enhances security team accomplishments and competence by
planning delivery of solutions; answering technical and procedural
questions for less experienced team members; teaching improved
processes; mentoring team members.
Determines security requirements by evaluating production
infrastructure design and requirements; researching and developing
information security policy, standards and guidelines; conducting
system security assessments.
Updates job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging
security practices and standards; participating in educational
opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining
personal networks; participating in professional organizations;
Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting
ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring
opportunities to add value to job accomplishments;
deploy and improve tools for conducting periodic security checks
of critical workday infrastructure, services, and applications;

Contribute to the development of and participate in risk and
threat modeling programs used by the security team for architecture
reviews for Workday's applications and infrastructure;

Skills and Experience:
4+ years of progressively responsible experience in the area of
security tools development or technical security architecture and
design. Most recent roles should reflect direct, hands-on
experience with technical security areas.
You are a security specialist with experience across 2 or more
of the relevant disciplines including cloud security concepts,
network security, application security, and systems security;
Working knowledge of cloud security concepts and professional
hands-on experience documenting and implementing security controls
of the same;
Operational experience supporting production systems (including
Proficient in at least one scripting language with the ability
to apply automation to ensure desired and consistent security
configurations are maintained;
A working understanding of network, application and platform
security tools and concepts;
Understanding of application, system, and security threats,
attack techniques and mitigating controls;
Knowledge of securing public and private cloud infrastructure
