Job Description:

Candidates should have expertise and a successful experiential record in higher education and K-12 educational leadership. Responsibilities will include teaching research methods and statistics, as well as leadership courses. The ideal candidate should be familiar with areas such as planning, budgeting and organizational effectiveness; law, policy, and ethics; student success and inclusion, pedagogy, learning contexts, and assessment across multiple disciplines. Additionally, the faculty member will provide clinical supervision of graduate students in their capstone courses. As part of the position the candidate will provide service to the university and community, support collegiality, and uphold professional and ethical standards. Faculty members engage in scholarly activities and/or creative endeavors that contribute to the academic mission of the university, college, and profession. Candidates should be available to teach evenings and summers. Required Qualifications Graduation from an accredited institution with terminal degree appropriate to K-16 Educational Leadership. ABD considered (however, degree must be completed by the start of classes). Knowledge and skill in current leadership and instructional theories, strategies, techniques, and discipline content. Evidence of potential for scholarly/creative work consistent with a teaching university. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of and experience in teaching courses in Higher Education Leadership and related fields. Knowledge of current leadership theory, methods, strategies, and techniques. Knowledge of school management, faculty motivation, and evaluation. Knowledge of state and national educational leadership standards. Knowledge of current instructional theory, methods, strategies, and techniques. Knowledge of student management, motivation, and evaluation techniques. Knowledge of and experience in K-12 Education Leadership. Skill in interpersonal relationships, problem-solving, and decision-making. Skill in research, quantitative reasoning, writing, which results in scholarly work. Skill in educational change, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to a diverse group. Ability to apply technology in classroom teaching. Ability to support graduate students in building capacity for professional success. Ability to teach summers. Ability to teach evening courses. Ability to adapt to current trends in the field.
