Scholarship Position DescriptionThis position is awarded a scholarship for 2025-2026. All scholarships are determined by position, time commitment, responsibility, and financial budget determined in April. • Assigns new articles and ensures they are completed by the deadline
• Manages what, when, and how content is uploaded to GeekWave's website
• Manages team of interviewers and writers along with GeekWave Director
• Edits written content for grammar, spelling, and formatting, matching the editorial standards set by leadership team
• Publishes new articles on Wordpress and keeps website updated
• Ensures new podcasts and videos are linked on the website
• Regularly responds to messages via Slack and Gmail
• Attends mandatory meetings
• Communicates all needs and concerns with the GeekWave DirectorExpectations & Duties
  • Trains all members on appropriate platforms
  • Runs regular meetings and check-ins with team members
  • Provides critical and constructive feedback to all interviewers and writers
  • Collaborate and meet regularly with equivalent team leads in other UteCast platformsQualifications
    • Understanding and working knowledge of necessary software, tools, and equipment
    • Previous work and/or education and training in journalism or media
    • Preference given to applicants with prior experience in GeekWave or Student Media
    • Demonstrated leadership and/or previous management experience preferred
    • Must be enrolled student progressing satisfactorily towards a degreeApplications will be accepted until APRIL 18, 2025.
