Senior or Lead Embedded Software Engineers Location: Orem, UT Job Type: Permanent Compensation: $125,000 - 160,000 Annually JobID: 2060954-WQGDescriptionA Kforce client is seeking to hire a Senior or Lead Embedded Software Engineers in Orem, Utah (UT).Summary:We are working directly with the Hiring Manager on this exclusive search assignment. This company offers a competitive compensation package including base salary, 401K, Stock/RSU's, etc. The Lead Embedded Software Engineer team is looking for a highly skilled, motivated senior technical leader to work on their complex and innovative radar platform and systems. The successful candidate will be developing and implementing embedded software solutions on Linux, bare-metal, and RTOS environments. The position has the potential to be converted to a Tech Lead position and this position is partial remote.Responsibilities include:

• Develop critical features for the Radar platform including Linux device drivers, hardware support libraries, Yocto recipes, microcontroller software, and application software in C, C++, and Python languages
• Be part of technical design discussions and reviews
• The Senior or Lead Embedded Software Engineer will create design documentation for collaboration as necessary
• Engineer software that is concise, testable, and maintainable
• Define functional requirements of the product that best serves our customers' needs
• The Senior or Lead Embedded Software Engineer is testing, integrating, and verifying embedded software on the hardware
• Mentor embedded engineers across the organization Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent experience; Master's degree preferred
  • 5-7+ years of experience in software or firmware engineering
  • Experience as a technical team lead is a plus but not required
  • Embedded software development lifecycle experience (specification, implementation, integration, test)
  • Strong C, C++ with experience running Linux on an embedded platform
  • Knowledge in computer architecture, compiler, and operating system concepts for embedded systems
  • Ability to use oscilloscope and logic analyzer for software and hardware troubleshooting
  • Enjoy taking initiative and working with multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts and details effectively
  • Ability to work in a small and fast-paced environmentExperience or basic knowledge/understanding of some of the following:
    • Real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as Free RTOS, Linux, etc.
    • BSP packages for new board designs
    • Xilinx Zynq SoC or other FPGA-based SoC o STM32/ARM microcontrollers
    • Python for application development or data analysis
    • Designing Linux character device drivers
    • Building embedded Linux systems using Yocto
    • Experience Managing or mentoring other engineers is a plus
      
      The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs.
