Job Description Job Description Provides direct and indirect OT
services; develops and supervises client treatment within Early
Psychosis program; performs individual, family and group
occupational therapy for a variety of Behavioral health disorders,
personal problems, and personality disorders; manages personal case
load; provides training and consultation services to individuals,
groups, families, and organizations; attends and participates in
family-team meetings; assists in the development of treatment plans
for client and family. The occupational therapist collaborates with
the individual, individual's family/support system, and other
clinicians to include information gained through the occupational
therapy assessment in the development and implementation of the
overall recovery plan. The occupational therapist may provide
direct intervention services to the individual and his/her family
and will provide consultation to other team members when developing
educational supports (individual education plans [IEPs] or 504
plans) and determining vocational supports/services. Occupational
therapy assessment and intervention focuses on the complex
relationship of factors influencing the individual's ability to
successfully engage in meaningful occupation. These factors include
but are not limited to: areas of occupation the individual wants,
needs, or is expected to engage in (i.e. activities of daily
living; activities of daily living, rest and sleep, education,
work, play, leisure, and social participation); individual factors
(i.e. cultural values, beliefs, and spirituality, Behavioral
functions, sensory functions and pain, etc.); activity demands
(i.e. objects and their properties, space demands, social demands,
sequence and timing, required actions and performance skills;
required body functions); performance skills (motor and praxis
skills, sensory-perceptual skills, emotional regulation skills,
cognitive skills, communication and social skills performance
patterns (habits, routines, rituals, roles). The occupational
therapist places special emphasis on sensory processing and sensory
modulation techniques to help the individual to engage in
meaningful occupations. May lead and/or participate in staff and
peer review meetings; assists to monitor diagnosis, goals and
progress notes related to individual clients; assists with document
reviews to assure compliance with record keeping requirements,
policies. Develops and updates assessments, treatment plans &
reviews and progress notes. Performs general case monitoring and
management; assists in determining appropriate treatments and
timely termination of clients by participating in-group/staff
decision-making; Coordinates with supervisors regarding issues and
problems, which interfere with assignments, goals, treatment plans,
and projects. Performs other related duties as required. Education
and Experience: Licensed Occupational Therapist through the State
of Utah. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Thorough
knowledge of assessments, treatment plans, and interventions that
include sensory motor processing, cognitive, and environ Behavioral
aspects of the participants life to promote optimal success in the
context of their Behavioral health, education, and vocational
services. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the
delivery, safety, and effectiveness of OT services within the PREP
program in collaboration with the transdisciplinary team. Deliver
services that address diverse social, cultural, gender, and
economic needs of population served utilizing equity lens. Adhere
to documentation standards, training and certifications
requirements in a timely manner according to agency policies and
procedures. Ability to perform under adverse crisis situations;
communicate verbally and in writing; develop and maintain effective
working relationships with multidisciplinary treatment teams,
executives, professionals, administrators, and the public, meet or
exceed productivity standard set by the agency. Work Environment:
Work performed in a clinical setting with appropriate climate
controls. Tasks require variety of physical activities,
occasionally involving muscular strain, related to walking,
standing, stooping, sitting, and reaching. Hearing, talking and
seeing are essential to successful completion of typical duties.
Common eye, hand, finger dexterity must exist. Behavioral
application utilizes memory for details, complex instructions,
emotional stability, creative problem solving. Elements of hazard
uncertainty exist in the normal course of performing duties
associated with providing Behavioral health services. Must be
willing to complete and criminal background check and
