This is the structural engineering position that provides the variety and challenge that you have been seeking! - As a licensed structural engineer at CKR Engineers, you will assist architects, building owners, contractors, and others by providing structural design solutions to assist in the construction, maintenance, and repair of buildings and other structures. - -You will design office buildings, multi-family residential buildings, houses, churches, schools, and industrial facilities, as well as provide forensic engineering services. - -For over 40 years, CKR Engineers has been on a mission to provide the public with the designs necessary for the construction and repair of buildings in accordance with mandated building codes, ensuring the buildings are safe and functional for their occupants. - Come join us in this mission!Your responsibilities:

• Work with clients to understand project requirements and to ensure the structural design meets their needs.
• Prepare structural calculations.
• Prepare written reports.
• Provide engineering support for projects under construction.
• Perform site visits to observe construction and ensure construction meets the design intent.
• Perform site visits to observe damage to existing buildings and provide recommendations for necessary repairs.
• Work with the CKR drafting department to produce plans and details that clearly communicate the engineering design.Your qualifications and skills:
  
  • Current license as a Professional or Structural Engineer in Utah or have the ability to become licensed in Utah within six months. - If you are currently an Engineer-in-Training working towards full licensure, you will also be considered for this position.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with others
  • Solid understanding of structural engineering principles and of building codes
  • Self-driven, with limited need for direction from others
  • Physical ability to walk on uneven terrain around job sites, climb ladders, walk on pitched roofs, and maneuver through tight spacesYour benefits:
